FAQ

Q1. What should the consistency of my ghee be?

A1. Generally, the consistency of ghee depends on the temperature at which you store it. At room temperature, it usually remains soft, and during winters, it solidifies. Depending on the temperature outside the jar, this process may happen quickly or slowly. It is perfectly normal for ghee to be liquid, solid, or a combination of consistencies.

Q2. What do you feed your cows?

A2. Our cows graze freely and are given natural fodder. The buttermilk obtained in ghee making is also given to our cows. We believe in a cruelty-free environment, and therefore we do not inject hormones in cows.

Q3. How can we identify pure cow ghee?

A3. The easiest method to check the purity is to do a pan test. Add a teaspoon of ghee to a pan and heat it. If the ghee starts melting immediately and turns dark brown, it is pure. However, if it takes time to melt and is yellow in colour, then it is adulterated.

Q4. Does it contain any artificial flavour?

A4. Absolutely not, Roses and Tulip's A2 cow ghee does not have any artificial flavour or colour. It is 100% original and has a natural rich flavour and colour.

Know your Ghee!

Roses and Tulip ghee is made from A2 milk of native cows (Badri cows) that are grass fed to ensure the natural goodness in the milk. Badri is dual purpose breed of Uttarakhand which also known as “Pahadi”; as they are mainly found in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand. These cows are maintained in natural habitats and are not farmed in factory. It is made from traditional methods to ensure that the nutrients of ghee are not lost in the processing stage. This ghee is made by rural communities to ensure that you get the natural flavour everytime you use it in your kitchen. The milk sourced from Badri cows is converted in to curd. From this curd, the butter is separated by churning and the remaining part of the curd is boiled to convert it into ghee. In this process, 1 ltr of ghee comes from 25 litres of milk. The ghee is free from preservatives, additives and harmful colours to let you season your curries with ghee without any worries.

Why A2 cow ghee is so Expensive?

Roses and Tulip's A2 Cow Ghee is made entirely from the milk extracted from desi cows. The indigenous cow gives around 2-3 litres of milk per day which is more nutritious than foreign breeds that produce more milk. The cows are neither forced nor injected with hormones to enhance milk production.
Our ghee is bi-directionally bilona churned with a wooden churner. This is why our A2 cow ghee has a grainy texture, thicker consistency, tempting aroma, superior flavour, and is much healthier. Hence, A2 Cow Ghee is costlier and better than regular ghee.
